Naturalist-led one-mile walk focusing on early summer wildflowers and wetland birds. Free, no registration required. Meet at the parking lot off 4th Avenue.
Library reptile show by Iowa Wildlife Encounters
Live reptile presentation featuring snakes, turtles, and lizards native to Iowa. Part of the Summer Reading Program. Free and open to all ages.
Thomas Jefferson Elementary construction information meeting
Facilities director Mark Tollefson and Superintendent Lisa Harrington will present plans for the $2.1 million gym renovation and answer questions from parents and neighbors.

Jasper County 4-H static exhibit entry deadline
Deadline to submit entry forms for 4-H static exhibits at the county fair. Forms available at the extension office or online at extension.iastate.edu/jasper.
Jasper County Fair
Annual county fair with livestock shows, 4-H exhibits, carnival, demolition derby (July 18), and grandstand concert (July 19). Admission $8 adults, $4 children 6-12, under 6 free.
Newton Farmers Market
Weekly market with local produce, baked goods, plants, and handmade goods. Runs May through October on the Courthouse Square.
